City Electric Supplies (CES) recently expanded to Bunbury, establishing a 1000m² facility encompassing both retail and warehouse spaces. The building’s existing flooring presented several challenges, including multiple layers of poorly bonded paint, self-levelling cement, and vinyl coverings that required removal. Additionally, the concrete slab was compromised by numerous cracks and holes.
The client required a durable, slip-resistant flooring solution that could withstand forklift traffic while ensuring easy maintenance and a professional aesthetic to complement the store’s fit-out.
FloorCo began with extensive diamond grinding to remove existing coatings and prepare the concrete surface for the new flooring system. All remnants of self-levelling cement and vinyl were eliminated using demo hammers, ensuring a smooth and clean base. Cracks in the showroom area were chased and filled with resin, restoring structural integrity to the slab.
To meet CES’s requirements for durability and safety, FloorCo installed its Heavy Traffic System, a proprietary resin flooring solution. This system was engineered to provide exceptional durability under high-traffic conditions, while also delivering an attractive and functional finish.
The completed flooring delivered a durable, slip-resistant surface tailored for forklift operations, combining practical performance with visual appeal. The high-performance resin floor not only enhanced safety and functionality but also contributed to the overall aesthetics of the facility, aligning seamlessly with the store’s professional standards and operational needs.
